Pre-PMA 2008: Four Thirds users far and wide will appreciate the wide angle and telephoto zooms today announced by Sigma. The company's popular 10-20mm F4-5.6 and 70-200 F2.8 lenses have been converted to fit Leica, Panasonic and Olympus DSLRs. Both lenses include Sigma's HSM hypersonic focusing motors.

The announcement of two new lenses for the Four Thirds System

The Sigma Corporation (COO: Kazuto Yamaki) is pleased to announce the new 10-20mm F4-5.6 EX DC HSM for Four Thirds, Ultra wide-angle zoom lens designed exclusively for digital SLR cameras with capability of wide angle photography and APO 70-200mm F2.8 II EX DG MACRO HSM for Four Thirds, the large aperture telephoto zoom lens has fast maximum aperture of F2.8 throughout the entire zoom range.

These lenses will be showcased at PMA, which is started on January 31st 2008 in Las Vegas, U.S.A. The introduction of these two lenses increases our lens line-up for Four Thirds mount to a total of twelve models.

10-20mm F4-5.6 EX DC HSM for Four Thirds

Ultra wide-angle zoom lens designed exclusively for digital SLR cameras with
capability of wide angle photography.

This ultra-wide zoom lens has an angle of view of 94.5 – 56.8 degrees. It is a very powerful tool for landscape photography and produces striking image with exaggerated perspective. Three SLD (Special Low Dispersion) glass elements and three Aspherical lenses provide optimum image quality throughout the entire zoom range. This lens incorporates HSM (Hyper Sonic Motor), ensuring a quiet and high speed AF as well as full-time manual focusing capability.
*With Four Thirds cameras, the focal length will be equivalent to 20-40mm.

APO 70-200mm F2.8 II EX DG MACRO HSM for Four Thirds

The large aperture telephoto zoom lens with a fast maximum aperture of F2.8
throughout the entire zoom range.

This large aperture telephoto zoom lens has a minimum focusing distance of 100cm (39.4”) and maximum magnification of 1:3.5. Two SLD (Special Low Dispersion) and three ELD (Extraordinary Low Dispersion) glass elements provide excellent correction for all types of aberrations. The super multi-layer coating reduces flare and ghosting. High image quality is assured throughout the entire zoom range. This lens incorporates HSM (Hyper Sonic Motor), ensuring a quiet and high speed AF and full-time manual focus override. An adjustable and removable tripod collar is included as a standard component.
*With Four Third cameras, the focal length will be equivalent to 140-400mm.
